"The four undergraduate years define the life of the student. Young people and their parents should study the college horizon carefully and then visit as many campuses as possible so they can make an informed decision based on their own experiences."
- San Francisco Bay Area college professor and parent of two college students

How This Book Will Help You
How this guide will help you

This college guidebook was created by a California parent for California high school students and their parents. It is filled with personal advice from someone who has already seen his daughter through the college search process, and it is intended to help students and their families make a safe and rewarding tour of any of several East Coast colleges.

The contents of the guidebook are organized in a manner that we hope will ease the reader through the entire college visit process. The introductory material contains information on college search preparation and East Coast trip planning, while the main body of the text guides the traveler up and down the Atlantic Seaboard, directing the reader to 35 top-rated East Coast college campuses. Along the way, students are shown how to evaluate every college campus they visit, and they are encouraged to judge for themselves whether or not a particular college campus is a good fit for them. The book contains helpful maps and charts, and concludes with a glossary of often used terms and suggestions for further reading.
